Technical Drawing Course Outline
Technical drawing is a universal language and very important in today’s technological world. From the design phase to the construction phase, technical drawings are used to communicate ideas, concepts, and instructions from the drafter to the reader. Drafting is a graphic form of communication that allows people to share their ideas with others regardless of language barriers. Every line and symbol used in technical drawing has a specific meaning throughout the world. All occupations require the ability to interpret graphic forms of communication.
This course will provide a background in technical drawing and teach students basic drawing, tools and equipment, and applications of drawing skills. Students will actively pursue solutions to drafting problems that are concurrent to the needs of industry. Emphasis will be placed on communication of thoughts, ideas, and knowledge through technical drawing.

MATERIALS: Needed in class daily:
1. Folder or Binder (with loose leaf)
2. Pencil
CLASSROOM ROUTINE:
1. Students are to be on time*, in their seats and ready to begin work at the start of class.
*All school regulations regarding lateness and absence will be strictly enforced.
2. Give your best effort in class daily
3. Students are expected to help maintain a respectful and professional environment. Inappropriate language, profanity, attire, or comments to other students in class will not be tolerated.
GRADING POLICY:
1. Technical Drawings (50%)
2. Tests (25%)
3. Participation (15%)
4. Quizzes (10%)
