Construction Systems
This course is designed to look at the Construction aspect of production, including residential, and other types of general construction. Construction Systems will place emphasis on hands-on learning. Approximately 75% of the coursework will be completed through laboratory activities with the remaining 25% through classroom instruction. Students will complete a broad variety of laboratory activities to develop basic skills and a solid understanding of how a construction project progresses from the initial concept and plans, through site work, Use of machines/tools, structural development, mechanical system installation, finishing, etc. These laboratory activities will be supported by lessons on terminology, practices, and processes commonly used in contemporary construction projects.

MATERIALS: Needed in class daily:
1. Folder or Binder (with loose leaf)
2. Pencil
Safety Goggles will be provided by the school for students to use in their Technology classroom.
For safety purposes, open toed footwear is prohibited
CLASSROOM ROUTINE:
1. Students are to be on time*, in their seats and ready to begin work at the start of class.
*All school regulations regarding lateness and absence will be strictly enforced.
2. Give your best effort in class daily
3. Students are expected to help maintain a respectful and professional environment. Inappropriate language, profanity, attire, or comments to other students in class will not be tolerated.
GRADING POLICY:
1. Projects/Lab Activities (50%)
2. Tests (25%)
3. Participation (15%)
4. Quizzes (10%)
